Insulin and Cancer

Special thanks to Dr. Chi for permission to reproduce this educational article for you.
There is a strong link between cancer and insulin resistance. In fact, the American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association both formally acknowledge the strong relationship between diabetes/insulin resistance and the increased cancer incidence and mortality.
How does insulin resistance lead to cancer?
Insulin resistance predisposes us to an increase in insulin levels, and vice versa. Many studies have shown that insulin itself and the insulin-like growth factor receptor (IGFR) promotes cell proliferation and DNA mutations that cause cancer.Put simply, when you are insulin resistant, your body produces more insulin in order to process the sugar that you eat. For example, theoretically, 1 molecule of sugar needs 1 molecule of insulin to be digested. If you are insulin resistant, 1 molecule of sugar will need 2-3 or more molecules of insulin to digest. So the more sugar you eat, the more insulin your body produces. Cancer cells have IGFR, so it leads to cell proliferation.Since insulin receptors are found in almost all types of cells, this can be problematic. Research has already shown an increased risk in many types of cancer when insulin levels are high (Table 1). Colorectal cancer risk increases by 17% to 24%. The first link between insulin and cancer was actually found in colorectal cancer. Gastric cancer risk also increased 69% to 101%. Breast cancer and liver cancer risk increased by 2-fold to 3-fold. Prostate cancer is even worse at an increased risk of up to 562% while endometrial cancer risk increased by up to 4500%. Lung and ovarian cancer risk also increases with high insulin.

So there really is a need for determining insulin resistance early enough in order to help reduce the risk of developing these and other cancers. Furthermore, targeting insulin and the insulin-like growth factor receptor (IGFR) may be an important strategy for better prognosis of cancer patients.

Teeth marks: Signs of Insulin Resistance and Cancer

Teeth marks are indentations on the edges of your tongue (Figure 1) which is a good indicator of insulin resistance (high IGFR). This means that once food and water are digested, nutrients and sugar are unable to go to their target tissues or organs for utilization. Cancer depends only on sugar to grow. When you have insulin resistance or diabetes, you are unable to process sugar properly so you have higher levels of it feeding the cancer. This explains why many cancer patients show teeth marks.

Insulin Resistance Related to High Estrogen
Insulin resistance is also related to high estrogen. Excess estrogen can promote insulin resistance by damaging the beta cells of pancreas, making it unable to respond to changes in insulin or glucose levels. So it is important to reduce estrogen as well if you want to manage insulin resistance.
Also look for these symptoms that can indicate insulin resistance. If you become dizzy, shaky and irritable when you get hungry and don’t eat right away, you may have hypoglycemia already. Or if you get tired or sleepy after a big meal (energy crash), you are at high risk for diabetes.
 Acanthosis Nigricans
If you see dark, wrinkly pigmentation on the back of the neck (or elbows, knees, knuckles, and armpits), this is known as acanthosis nigricans (Figure 2) and is usually a sign of a more serious case insulin resistance or diabetes.Sometimes acanthosis nigricans occurs with tripe palms (Figure 3). Together they are found in 35% of gastric cancer and 11% of lung cancer cases (Dermatology Online Journal. 2012;18(11); J Clinical Oncology. 1989; 7(5):669-678).

If you see any of these markers, take them as an early warning sign of both insulin resistance and cancer. You can check your HbA1c level to verify. Ideally it should be less than 5.6.

Reduce HbA1c and Insulin Resistance with Myomin, OxyPower and Diabend
Because of its role in cancer, reducing insulin resistance is also important. Insulin resistance is related to estrogen dominance so to manage it, we need to reduce estrogen. Myomin is such an herbal formula. It can be added to Angiostop to help correct estrogen dominance and manage insulin resistance.M. Cipollo, DC from AZ, has a 17 y/o/f patient with Type I diabetes since 10 years old. After taking Myomin for about 4 months, her HbA1c level reduced significantly (Table 2).

J. Gambardella, DC from FL, has a 50 y/o/m patient with who took Myomin for calcified stones in the prostate as well as elevated HbA1c. After a year, the stones cleared and his HbA1c level also decreased from 5.7 to 5.2 (Table 3).

Angiostop Inhibits IGFR and other RTKs in Cancer like Targeted Therapies
When you are insulin resistant, then the insulin-like growth factor receptor (IGFR) can attach to insulin, triggering cancer processes. Almost all types of cancer express IGFR, like breast cancer, colon cancer, lung cancer, etc (Table 4). Cancer researchers believe that the presence of IGF not only contributes towards cancer development but may explain the increased resistance to chemotherapy, targeted drugs and other cancer treatments that cancer patients experience. Inhibiting IGFR has been a focus of cancer research because this strategy can both reduce the risk and also improve cancer patient results.

Legend: VEGFR – Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor; PDGFR – Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Receptor; EGFR – Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor; FGFR – Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor; IGFR – Insulin-like Growth Factor Receptor.

Currently, no IGFR inhibitor cancer drug has yet been approved. But Angiostop has already been shown to inhibit IGFR by 19% in an actual clinical test by the Research Genetic Cancer Centre (RGCC), headquartered in Greece. RGCC performs personalized sensitivity testing on circulating tumor cells from actual cancer patients. Dr. Ray Hammond, DC, NMD, Director of the US Division in Texas shared that Angiostop is a very potent extract, effective on six to seven different types of cancer that they have tested, including breast, lung, prostate, colorectal, pancreatic and liver cancer.

He provided one of the assessment results (Figure 4). In colon cancer cells of a patient, Angiostop inhibited IGF-r, FGF-r and VEGFR-r by 19%, 24% and 26%, respectively. In cancer genetic testing, a drug or supplement with an inhibition rate of more than 10% is considered an excellent anti-cancer agent. These results are impressive because, again, no IGFR inhibitor drug has yet been approved. The fact that Angiostop inhibited IGFR in an actual cancer patient is of great significance.

Besides IGFR, Angiostop also inhibits 4 other RTKs in cancer: VEGFR, EGFR, PDGFR and FGFR. As you can see in Table 2, cancers express multiple RTKs at the same time so it is important to inhibit as many RTKs as possible in order to more fully suppress cancer.

The recent case reports below demonstrate the effect of Angiostop on abnormal growth or cancer markers.

March 2017 – S. Ornelas has a female patient with cancer in the stomach, liver and lungs (the largest tumor in the stomach was the size of a grapefruit). Her oncologist told her she had a month to live. Her results were amazing after 8 months on Angiostop, Revivin, Myomin, Reishi Spore and Asparagus Extract as well as lymphatic drainage. A PET scan showed that that the growths were too small to even be removed by surgery!

March 2017 – A. Y., a 60 y/o/f from CA, had thyroid cancer in 2005 at age 48. The cancer was removed in a biopsy but she didn’t undergo any therapy afterwards. In 2010, two nodules were found in her thyroid with one measuring over 2 cm. In 2011, she started taking Angiostop and Myomin. Now the nodules have cleared.

 SUMMARY
Insulin resistance is an increasing health problem, not just because it is a precursor to diabetes, but also because it is quite strongly associated with cancers of the colon, stomach, breast, liver, prostate, endometrium, lungs, ovaries and many more. When you have insulin resistance, your body produces more insulin. Since cancer cells have IGFR (insulin-like growth factor receptor), which binds to insulin, this leads to more proliferation and growth. So anytime you see teeth marks on your tongue, be warned that this is a very good sign of insulin resistance and you should take action immediately. Also check for estrogen dominance markers (e.g., strawberry dots on tongue, cherry angiomas on abdomen) as it is closely related to insulin resistance and diabetes. If you also experience symptoms like dizziness, shakiness and irritability when you’re hungry, or if you get sleepy after a big meal, then these are signs of insulin resistance or diabetes. If you have any of these markers and symptoms, you can take Myomin, OxyPower and Diabend to help reduce HbA1c level, a blood test that indicates if you have insulin resistance or diabetes. Ideally HbA1c should be under 5.6, especially for individuals in their 30s.To help reduce the risk of cancer, take Angiostop. So far no drug has been approved to inhibit IGFR. Angiostop, on the other hand, has been shown through the RGCC test to inhibit IGFR. It also inhibits other tyrosine kinase receptors expressed by cancer cells, such as VEGFR, EGFR, FGFR and PDGFR.
