What does belly fat, breast cancer and prostate cancer have in common?

Woman-Suffering
by Glen Depke, Traditional Naturopath Last week I wrote an article about estrogen dominance for both men and women, which was very well received by so many. If you missed this article you can catch this here. When I was reading this again myself, I noticed that I left out a key piece of invaluable information for you. This piece of information is sharing the body signs that you can read personally to understand if estrogen dominance is an issue for you. After all, it is not realistic for most of you to simply randomly test estrogen levels or hormones overall. So how the heck would you recognize if this was an issue anyway. Right? This is so important because estrogen dominance is a risk factor for both men and women. Possible…
  • Fibrocystic breast
  • Ovarian cysts
  • Endometriois
  • Uterine fibroids
  • Prostate cancer
  • Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH )
  • Testicles
  • Liver/kidney/thyroid cysts
  • Insulin resistance
  • Increased belly fat
So here are some signs to tell you if estrogen dominance is a likely issue for you. 23721729-f984-4295-a8ae-eb3ecb9ed782           The first is the appearance of what is referred to as cherry angiomas. Cherry angiomas           Cherry angiomas on the trunk of the body would be a risk factor for estrogen dominance but this could also be a sign of liver congestion. Interestingly enough, the liver also plays a role in estrogen hormone conversion so there is a deep tie to hormones and cherry angiomas across the board. The more cherry angiomas that are present, this higher your risk factors. When cherry angiomas are present on any of our clients, we always recommend hormone testing to confirm if this is more likely an estrogen dominance issue or liver congestion. The second sign is the appearance of red dots on the body of you tongue. Red dots tongue           Red spots on the top of the body of the tongue is another potential sign of estrogen dominance and overall hormone imbalance. This is a risk factor for anyone over the age of 18. The red spots are not a risk factor for children and teenagers. Upon noticing the red spots on the tongue of our clients we would recommend hormone testing to review the possibility of estrogen dominance or overall adrenal (stress) hormone imbalance. The last sign would be white flecks on your nails. White-spots-on-nails           The white flecks on your nails can also be a sign of mineral deficiencies but if you have the angiomas, red dots on your tongue and the white flecks on your nails, this trilogy would show a high likelihood of estrogen dominance and testing is recommended. Remember that estrogen dominance is a risk factor for breast cancer for women and prostrate and/or breast cancer for men. The good news is that by paying attention to these body signs, proper testing  and assisting the body in reducing estrogen, you have the power to significantly reduce or potentially eliminate these risk factors. Knowledge truly is power! 23721729-f984-4295-a8ae-eb3ecb9ed782           If you have any comments or questions regarding this article please post this on our Facebook page or on our Twitter page for us to address personally.
